I Missed You All

I missed you all so much
While the site was down
Came back again and again
Leaving with a frown
Never knew how often
I spent my time with you
Until I could not get in
And was left so sad and blue
You are all a part of me
I can see it clearly now
Even tried backdoors
Just to get in some how
This was a just little test
To find what we really feel
The pain of not getting in
I admit was very very real
Just wanted you to know
How I missed everyone
I feel like I left the shadows
And can once more see the sun
Bet a lot of you felt it too
And Just the same as me
Really could feel the pain
Of missing our online family

Friendship and Love Club

I have met so many people
It is more than a friendship
We have a common interest
It is more likened to a kinship
We all have something to say
And all have some kind of story
About their lonely broken hearts
Or just proudly waving ole glory
Many come here to meet others
And this is a good place to start
If you need some advice or help
We will all try and do our part
Some poems are very funny
Others are about the broken
They can tell their story here
About things they've never spoken
The hurt and pain and lonesomeness
Or the sweet thrill of being in love
About lovers out on the ocean
Or just floating on clouds above
So this club is the place to be
You will enjoy our company
we all have one thing in common
we all write and read poetry
our founders name is Cindy
someone you will come to adore
for there are many poets here
but she always welcomes more

If I had one wish

If I ware granted just one wish
One that I knew would come true
I would wish for real happiness
For me and for everyone else too
There would be no reason for war
No unwanted children crying alone
Everyone would trust their mates
And no lonely people by the phone
We would work together in peace
All could live where we love best
Children would live without fear
And our lives were no ongoing test
So if everybody was really happy
The Countries would all get along
For Living the way we all choose
And we could all sing our own song
So I would wish you real happiness
Filled with loving and smiling faces
The peace that angels can bring you
And God in all situations and places
We would have the holiday spirit
Everyday the whole year through
For if I had only one wish to give
It would be happiness for all of you

The Special Rose

Never planted or ever tended
From the mud comes the rose
Never pruned or fertilized
And yet the flower grows
It worked its way upward
Through the rocks and mud
Lived months with no water
Then drank up after a flood
Survived the scorching heat
And in the winter it froze
But came the spring time
Produced a most lovely rose
It had the look of velvet
And the color of dark blue
On the end of a its pedals
Were teardrops made of dew
And the smell of its perfume
Filled the lonely night air
So living alone in an ally
It stood so proudly there
A young man saw its beauty
And started to pick the rose
His fingers between the thorns
Pulled the flower to his nose
He did not pick the flower
Instead he just walked away
But there he was with a shovel
And a pot the following day
He carefully dug up its roots
And placed it into a lovely pot
He gave it some good rich soil
Because this rose was not forgot
He gave it to his sweetheart
And she placed it by the door
For everyone that comes to see
And it will live in mud no more

More About Barb

As most know I love children. I own and run a daycare and my real name is Barbara. I started writing poetry when I was a child and always loved poems. Till I happened on Cindys site, I never thought of other people reading or enjoying them except my own family. I use to make up little rhymes for my kids when they were little and now I do it for my grandkids and daycare kids. Now it's for my online family. Thank you all so much for opening your door to me and my poetry. I will soon be 62 so I got a late start online. All you young people hang in there, you can go far. Remember, there is poetry in everything.....see ya Barb

Barb passed away on April 21, 2007. Barb was a wonderful, kind, and thoughtful person who always had something nice to say when replying to a poem someone else had posted on the forum. I will personally miss her presence on the site and her friendship. Barb, you were a wonderful poet and you will be missed by so many people because you were loved by so many. I will always remember "there is poetry in everything" as you always said.

Someday, my friend, we will meet in that Friendship and Love Forum in the sky.
