Barry Manilow

"Nobody knows what you want except you,
and nobody will be as sorry as you if you don't get it.
So don't give up your dreams."

Barry Manilow

"I am a musician. My passion for music has
obliterated everything in its path for my entire life.
Whenever there was a choice between music and anything else,
music won hands down every time.
No one person or material thing could ever come
close to the feeling I get when the music is right.
I am totally committed to my music and my fans."

Barry Manilow

Memory

Midnight, not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory, she is smiling alone
In the lamplight, the withered leaves, collected my fee
And the wind begins to moan

Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days, it was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life, and I mustn't give in
When the dawn comes, tonight will be a memory, too
And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days, the stale cold smell of morning
The street lamp dies, another night is over, another day is dawning
Touch me, it's so easy to leave me, all alone with the memory of my day in the sun
If you touch me, you'll understand what happiness is
Look a new day, has begun

Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days, it was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Barry Manilow was born in Brooklyn on June 17, 1946.
His birth name was Barry Alan Pincus but was changed years later.
He attended and graduated from the Julliard Music School.

I have been a fan of Barry Manilow for many years.
I have seen this man in concert and he is what
I consider to be one of the greatest showman of all times.
Throughout the years Barry Manilow's music has made me smile, laugh, and cry.
I admire him as a human being, and as a great musician.

Barry, "I can't smile without you". :-)
