How can I explain what I feel inside
Wanting to hold you
And make it alright
How can I show you, I'm all you need
I'm willing to beg, willing to plead
The tears start to fall now
As I try to be strong
Then tell myself, I've got to hang on
But the distance between us
Leaves me in despair
Knowing our closeness
Has always shown how much we care
If only our feelings would have came right out
If only we wouldn't have taken this route
You've given me so much to hold on to
A relationship I thought would always be true
It hurts me so much to se us this way
I sit here wishing there was something I could do or say
I know the problems your facing have nothing to do with me
Pushing me away is not the answer, though
Cause I can feel your emotions,
Your sadness, your needs....
I want you to know that no matter what
I'm always here
To give you my helping hand
And listening ear.

Nobody Knows
Of course everyone knows,
knows what its like to hurt,
to cry, to feel an oath to die.
but not everyone knows you.
knows the pain that you invoke.
The memories you require,
the dreams that you inspire.
The smile that you smile,
when I see you after awhile.
They don't know the you,
that I hope to be with me.
They don't know the you,
that only I can see.

The Basics of Love
To all who came before me,
To all who fell behind,
Watch your step very carefully,
'cause love will make you blind.
Never take a short cut,
Never run the mile,
Always stay in between,
The papers in love's file.
Keep your distance from the start,
And try to stay away from the end,
and watch out for the saying,
"I just want to be your friend."
For not all love is good,
and not all love is bad,
Just hope you'll never look back on,
The love that you once had.

Best Friends
Those precious seconds, lost to foolish fights
seem to fall before my eyes; sinking out of sight.
Each passing moment pushed harder through the doors,
will never be ours again, though our memories can still endure.
The tears collect, behind your big blue eyes
Don't cry my friend, save that for when we say Good-Bye.
Some say friendship is the strongest bond,
I pray on my life, our friendship can last that long.
A tear trickles down, it's my turn now.
It's so hard to stay dry.
It doesn't matter anyhow
I'm admitting this now; before it's too late,
I wish time would stand still for you I'd change my fate.
Friends have come and gone
I'm sorry that had to be
but you are my very best friend
You are so special to me.
Through my eyes I see a fragile porcelain doll,
I stand there; you cry, creating waterfalls.
Let me be there for you
I want to hold your hand
Without you my life falls apart;
I crumble to a mere pile of sand.
Just close your eyes
rest while your thoughts recollect
think of us here and now
Just don't ever forget.
Friends forever that's what we'll be.
Distance is just a word,
when your lonely close your eyes and think of me.
Whenever you need a shoulder to cry on
and you can't find anyone better
You, my best friend Just remember

"I Miss You.. Did You Have To Leave?"
I saw how you drifted from those you called friends
I saw how you put up a wall with no end
You closed up your heart to the ones who still care
And said to us all in so many words.."enter in if you dare".
But time has a way of just closing the door
Because you closed out all your friends from before
But I being one who could not say "Good bye"...
Decided to open my heart up and try
To show you this friendship was falling apart
I gave you some gifts that spoke right to your heart
This was just my way of saying "hey friend"
This thing we call friendship does not have to end
I also wrote poems as my way to express
That I was unable to just let things rest
And for a short time you accepted my gifts
And realized that you were still loved and still missed
But something went wrong when I spoke to your heart
Because shortly after, you broke it apart
That breakable bond that is deep within a soul
You tore it to shreds and it left me unwhole
But try as you may you can stomp on my heart
And kick me around when I'm falling apart
But one thing remains you cannot kill my spirit
I'll always be there at the door...but you must first open it.

It comes to us in many fashions
Personifying endless passions
Ignoring gender, creed and race
Just look around, it's EVERY PLACE!
You'll find it in a baby's giggle
And also in a puppy's wiggle
In April's rain when flowers grow
In winter nights in quiet snow
It's heard in songs throughout the land
And felt when someone takes your hand
Reflected in your dear ones' eyes
When gifts are given for surprise
It does not judge, condemn or scare
But cradles gently, showing care
So hear it! see it! touch it! feel!
Avail your senses, it's VERY REAL
It's here within the big and small
The fat, the thin, the short, the tall
It's what makes life worth living for
Never enough! there's ALWAYS more!
The human being can't do without
And this i KNOW without a doubt
So please say thanks to God above
For giving us this thing called "LOVE"
