Preferred Off-line Friends
There to hold me and comfort me. I have a mistrusting nature, so it is hard with on-line friends because I am never sure if they are telling the truth.

Because you can contact them easier when you need them.

I prefer face to face interaction.

Can't trust people on the internet.

My best friend is off-line and I have been best friends with her for 10 years. I know her better then most people and I don't feel that you could obtain that type of friendship on-line.

You can't be sure who on-line people are who they say they are. They can pretend to be someone else.

When you have a problem and you talk to a friend in person they can give you a hug. I like being able to see the persons face and touch them, if so desired.

The computer is a barrier and I cannot see, feel and touch the real persons form.

There is more trust and it is more personal if you can look into someone's eyes to see their honesty and interest.

My best friend in the whole world is off-line and I see her whenever I want. I feel the internet is a superficial way to establish a friendship.

They are there in the time of need to provide physical support, such as a hug or a smile. Things that you cannot feel over the computer. Also facial expressions are very crucial in determining a persons true reactions to a person hurting or in need if they can actually see who they are speaking with.

Can spend more time with them.

Even though on-line friends know a lot about me, they can't be there for the everyday parts of life and its working through the day to day struggles that the best friendships are formed.

A more real friendship. You can see people, talk face to face, do things together and get to know them better.

They are actually here for me and can help. Sometimes you need comfort more then just talking.

When I need a hug or shoulder to cry on they are there.

Preferred On-line Friends
You may be much more candid with an on-line friend as nothing is owed or expected... Just Friendship.

They don't judge you for what you look like, how your dress or any other physical qualities. They are your friends for you and not for your looks for material things.

I like both really. On-line friends are special to me . They seem to be more open in their feelings and are there for me when I am feeling low or very happy. Both on-line and off-line friends mean a lot to me. I can say more to on-line friends because I am typing not talking face to face. I kind of keep my feelings to myself in person.

They are always willing to listen and lend a hand with no questions asked. They are always upbeat and don't try to bring you down. They make me feel good.

Easier to be yourself and I can speak freely.

They are there when I need them and will always listen.

Find on-line friendships to be more honest and more intense than any real friendship I have ever had.

When I am talking to them about something, they "hear" what I am saying and not what my body is saying because they can't see me.

Not Sure
I love both but if I had to choose I would say off-line friends because I love to be with my friends to give them a hug and feel them hug me. Nothing can replace the embrace of a true friend.

A friend is a friend whether you can see their face or not.

I have friends on the net as well as in real life and find them to be equally important to me.

Like both at different times for different reasons.

You can be honest with on-line friends and they know you for your heart not your looks. Off-line friends are good as well, as you can just hangout with them and have fun.

They both are great and they always know when I am sad and how to cheer me up.
